D3 College Team Full of SPL Players Wins First Lacrosse Game in Four Years
If you watched Sixes Prize League Season 3, then you caught a glimpse of the infamous team called Sinatra & Istik “Justice League.” They were known around the league because the team’s makeup of players was from the local Pittsburgh collegiate program, La Roche University. They offer a taste of the NCAA Division 3 lacrosse action that the Steel City can provide, stepping inside the sixes format.
What was great about Sinatra & Istik was that they never gave up despite getting 50 goals scored on them in every sixes outing. They had thick skin despite dismal performances that got better as the season went on, but they never materialized into wins. The same is true for the club’s college seasons that ended winless for three straight years from 2022 - 2024 for the La Roche Redhawks.
However, their fortunes changed on April 17, 2025, when the LRU Redhawks beat Mitchell 10-7, marking their first victory in 46 games and four years.
Taking reps in the SPL helped the team’s improvement and boosted their confidence, too. “It really helped prepare me for the level of competition that I am playing plus it helped me with my defensive positioning and awareness,” Redhawk and Justice League player Dom Battistella said.
Look for the Justice League to make a return to SPL Season 4 this summer in Pittsburgh while they keep working towards collegiate success.
